The game’s release on Steam coincided with the addition of a scenario manager that lets players choose from and modify a number of premade scenarios, each of which features a unique number of playable characters, inventory, and introductory quests, though the game’s setting remains unchanged as an “edge world.”
Like the Dwarf defense structure, each character has an alternate personality, and characters will be damaged in practically every area of their body, reflecting the detail with which the fighting framework and, by extension, the characters’ neurology, are designed to simulate combat. Every aspect of a new game round, from the plot to the characters’ illnesses and abilities and even their individual personalities, is generated at random. If players don’t like one aspect of their character, they’ll keep making new ones until they find the right blend of traits. The names of the first several symbols have been changed.
Over time, new personalities could settle in the town. They will either be raised as part of the settlement’s population or kidnapped and coerced into becoming members of the original tribe. They are similar to the game’s starting characters in that they require a particular set of attributes chosen by the computer.
When one of the players’ characters dies or leaves the planet in a starship, the game is over. Anyhow, players are given the choice to keep playing, as it is reasonable to assume that a low-income person can move to the state’s periphery and still be able to afford to participate.
The goal of the game is to level up and compete with a group of other players in a hip environment on a planet other than Earth, all while being led by a sloppy storyline. When the characters have amassed enough wealth, they will blast out in a spaceship. The sport is best understood as a top-down, two-dimensional narrative. An artificial storyteller makes up things to happen in-game on the fly.
