A military-mechanical collaboration, nearing the end of the 21st century, has set up an office of logical examination on Mars, where Destruction 3 will be held. As a direct result of the team’s teleportation research, demons and other evil forces launch a deadly attack on the Mars base. As a space marine, the player’s objective is to repel the evil spirits from Mars and prevent them from reaching Earth.
Destruction 3 is the first reboot of Doom’s arrangement and is presented as a prologue to the main game in Doom RPG, ignoring all that has come before. The id Tech 4 game engine, which powers Destruction 3, was made available to developers in November 2011 under the GNU General Public License.
There was a basic and commercial success. Although the game’s premise and launch were lauded, critics were split on whether or not the game’s persistent involvement, which centered on fighting off hordes of enemies, was too similar to the original Doom. The resurrection of Evil, an add-on developed by Nerve Software, was released in April 2005.
The Doom 3 novelizations by Matthew J. Costello came out in February of 2008. Although the upgraded and enhanced Doom 3: BFG Edition was launched in the fourth quarter of 2012, the standalone version of Doom 3 was released in June 2015 for Android and in July 2019 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
